DAICO MFG CO., LTD. Group, in collaboration with the University of Tsukuba, has developed a moderator with excellent neutron moderation performance required for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (hereinafter, referred to as BNCT).

The effects of the moderator

・ ‘To reduce the mixing of high-energy neutrons in therapeutic beams and minimize the damage to healthy tissues (reduction of side effects).’
・‘To effectively break cancer cells by irradiating the therapeutic beams containing a lot of epithermal neutrons (optimization of the energy distribution of the beams for therapy).’
